It was announced in February this year that a new Halloween film was in production, and that the film would not be a part of the Rob Zombie reboot series.
After comments made by the studio that Jamie Lee Curtis would be featured in the new film, Curtis herself tweeted an amazing photograph of herself with series antagonist Michael Myers, along with the caption 'SHE'S BACK! See you guys October 19th, 2018.'
Despite having died at the hands of her killer brother Michael in Halloween: Resurrection the statement of 'she's back' does seem to confirm that Curtis will indeed be reprising the role of Laurie Strode, rather than playing a new character.
