One Million Moms Attack H&M Over Cis Woman They Believe is Trans, Miss Actual Trans Woman

The Christian hate group One Million Moms has launched a boycott of the Swedish multinational clothing retailer H&M following their new advertisement, 'She's a Lady'.

The group have attacked the advert and called for their supporters to boycott the retailer, stating; '1MM is not sure of H&M clothing company's thought process behind their new television ad, but if they're attempting to offend customers and families, they have succeeded,

'H&M's newest 'She's A Lady' commercial features what appears to be a man dressed as a woman in one segment, another woman wearing skimpy lingerie, and ends with two teenage girls kissing while underwater.

'Parents find this type of marketing inappropriate and unnecessary especially since H&M's target market is teens.  H&M Marketing Team may have thought that this type of advertising was politically correct, but not only is it disgusting and confusing for children, it is pushing the LGBT agenda.'

Interestingly, the 'man dressed as a woman' in the add that One Million Moms has taken offense at is actually Muay Thai Boxing female champion Fatima Pinto, who is cisgender and does not place herself on the transgender spectrum.

What One Million Moms failed to complain about in their pursuit of anti-LGBT+ hate was the actual transgender model Hari Nef.  Good work 1MM.

  2. Sounds like 1MM only wants to preserve the 1950's version of womanhood.

  3. The only thing I'd change is that the group should be identified as "the group that calls itself One Million Moms but which really has about 5000..."

  4. Aggressive ignorance. If they weren't so terrified, they could learn more about what they're protesting. If they learned more, they probably wouldn't be terrified. But they just don't know how to get off that darn terror wheel.

  5. I would prefer "Christian" rather than Christian. I'm a Christian and I dislike these ignorant bigots as much as anyone else here.

    1. Maybe go criticize those Christians for their behavior instead of pointing out #notallchristians.

    2. So go back to identifying by specific denomination instead of as generic Christians. This Christian identity is a tool of the religious right to unify a voting block against reproductive health and lgbtqia rights.

    3. Oh really? Most religious people I have come across are against lgbtq and anything and everything to do with it. And this comes from various religious, aka.Christian denominations.

    4. I am a Christian not a religious person hiding behind the churchs skirts and I find these groups using christian in there names distastful

    5. Thank you Mary, we need more good Christians like you.

    6. As much as I sympathize with your dislike of the bigotry of some if your fellow Christians, sorry, no.

Who gets to say who is or is not Christian? And why are these bigots not Christian? Because they are not perfect? Does your version of Jesus require you (or them) to be perfect? Go talk to your bigoted fellow Christians and work on their hearts, instead if publicly denying them.

You'll do much more good that way.

    8. @Nathan Schmidt @Anonymous -- I'm a transsexual Christian minister, a member of the Progressive Christian Alliance. I spend a great deal of time and energy "criticizing those Christians for their behavior." It can be both/and. As for the suggestion to use the denominational name instead of the word Christian, kinda hard when the denom has the word in its name.

    9. I'm with Cassandra. I'm not a minister, but an occasional lay preacher. I'm quite happy to go into a church and challenge their pre-conceptions. The city centre churches near the one I belong to all know I'm trans.

    10. Answering the question about using the denominational name instead of Christian . . . we are baptized as Christians who follow (hopefully, but clearly not always successfully) the teachings of Jesus Christ. I am a member of the Anglican Church of Canada, but I was not baptized as Anglican and I do not follow Angles. I do sometimes challenge people who self identify as Christian, but who exhibit behaviour that is vile and hateful, how they reconcile their behaviour with Jesus' primary teaching of love. It isn't up to me to say that they aren't Christian, but I'll admit that I often think that.

    11. How about we just leave the Christian part off and call them what they are, a bunch of narrow-minded ignoramuses.

  6. I just were discussing the ad from H&M with a friend. The way it reflects woman the way they are. Thin and chubby, small and tall, old and young, short hair, long hair, muscular and very girly, gay and trans. We loved it.

  7. Can they please elaborate on the LGBT agenda? Because I feel left out. As far as I know, most of us just want to live in peace and equal rights.

  8. In the add appear to be Hari Nef who is transmodel. Maybe they refer to her.

    1. The article specified that they did not refer to Hari Nef in their complaint

  9. Unbelievable! What difference does it make whether she's cis, trans or anything else?! We could complain that you're pushing your Christian agenda! So just stop! Some Christians are the biggest hypocrites I know, like 1MM. Keep your hate to yourselves, Jesus would be very disappointed in your hate for anyone!

  10. My problem with this ad is that it shows women who would never find anything decent looking and fitting at H&M. If the company wants to be oh so inclusive they should carter beyond size 12.

    1. They have a plus size line.

    2. I don't know how it's elsewhere but in Central Europe H&Ms plus size line consists of roughly one page in the online shop and 0-1 rack instores and it just covers basics like tanks and tees.

  11. "Cisgender" has got to be the most ridiculous, offensive, benign, and passive-aggressive terms to come from intolerant members of the LGBT community.

For the record; there are only two genders that science identifies. "Cisgender" is a term that close-minded bigots invented to pacify their overdeveloped victim complex.

    1. Maybe you shouldn't go off spouting what "science identifies" when you clearly don't even know what science says. According to science there aren't just more than two genders, there are more than two SEXES as well. Only these people are such a minority that no one bothers to change the concept of sex from a binary because who really cares, right? Google intersex and then tell me what "science identifies".

    2. Eh, don't feed the TERFtrolls.

    3. Two things: how can something be both offensive and benign? Also, science recognizes an entire spectrum of sexes and genders because they exist and are much more common than you think.

Okay, I guess there's one more thing: why are so offended by the term cisgender and not by the actual bias that trans people deal with every day? Seems pretty silly to me.

    4. Actually, there are far more than two genders/sexes. I'm thinking you don't know much about science if you think there are only two.

    5. Cisgender isn't a gender, it's a gender identity, effectively the opposite of transgender. Cisgender women and transgender women are both women, it's just that cisgender women identify with the gender they were assigned at birth, based on a doctor taking a quick peek between their legs. That's a pretty accurate system, being about 99.6% accurate, but it's not perfect, hence the existence of trans people.

  12. Cisgender means you identify with the body assigned to you at birth. That's it. It just means the opposite of transgender. Nothing offensive or passive aggressive there. It's existed in science for centuries, it wasn't invented by trans people.

Also, science recognises that there are many different genders. There are many scientists who know that gender is not a biological thing, and that humans are able to, and should have the right, to self determine their gender.

  13. Actually the term cisgender was first used in the 90's. It is just as bad to push misinformation from either side. It weakens your argument.

    1. Someone may have used cisgender in the 90s but I never heard it. People used T-girls, G-girls and Bigenders. I'd get death threats if I used them today.

  14. these people are shallow. thanks, 1mm for being assholes while also missing out on a perspective that gives everybody better lives. You're only "confusing" your teenagers by ignoring this.
